Bootleg Cursive Show at CD Central

Nadine and I made it to Lexington, KY with enough time to see Cursive perform a free 6 song acoustic set at CD Central before the show later that evening at The Dame.

I used the voice recorder app to bootleg the show. The acoustic set was great and I’m hoping that at some point cursive put out some sort of acoustic “best of” album or something, that would be great. Anyways, the recordings are not bad considering I recorded them from my shirt pocket. enjoy!

Setlist

  1. Caveman (From Mama, I’m Swollen)
  2. Making Friends And Acquaintances (From Domestica)
  3. Rise Up! Rise Up! (From Happy Hollow)
  4. Sierra (From The Ugly Organ)
  5. Love Cats (The Cure Cover)
  6. From the Hips (From Mama, I’m Swollen)

Goodbye CDs

Over the past few years I have found that I am no longer purchasing CDs like I did in the 90s. The need for them has completely diminished with Itunes, Napster and Amazon going digital. I have been saying for a few months that I’m just going to rip all my CDs to MP3 format and sell them all (aside from the collectors items). Well that day has finally come and I am working on placing my entire CD collection up for sale on Discogs.com. I’ll be continuing to add to my for sale list over the coming weeks. And for those of you wondering, I do still buy actual copies of music but it’s vinyl only these days.

Late fee social experiment

This morning on our way back from working out at the downtown YMCA we stopped by our favorite local video store, Wild and Woolly, to return the 3rd season of Weeds. The rental was to be returned by 9:30pm last night in order to avoid the late fee of one dollar. We arrived at the store before they opened thus the drop-box was our only option.

For some odd reason I thought about attempting to pay the late fee by inserting a dollar into the DVD case. Therefore, the worker who collected the videos this morning has a choice to make when they open the case to check that the disc is there.

  • Use the dollar to pay my late fee.
  • Or pocketing the one dollar for personal gain.

I’m hoping that next time I’m in to rent a video I don’t have a late fee. But if I still have to pay the late fee I won’t mind (although I will be a bit sad). I’m hoping to find that humanity is good and that my fee has been paid!

What do you think the outcome will be?

My Work Laptop Gets Experienced

This morning when I came into work and set up my laptop on my desk I opened it up only to find that the screen was in rare form. Wacked out beyond recognition in a very cool way. I then coined the term “Experienced Mode” when referring to your laptop/desktop monitor or any other view finder that gets twerked out beyond recognition.

Hendrix laptop

This image has not been Photoshopped in any way. It’s times like this that I really wish i had a Macbook Pro at work. My Mac at home never does this… I also find myself trying to exposé my work windows laptop after a long night or weekend on the mac.

Attempting to build

Scotty MunsterI’m finally getting some time back now that we have launched the new portal! yeah! So with this time I will be putting together the new site design as well as implementing new MP3 clips of tracks I have been working on. I have also recently joined the Flickr army and will be integrating my account into the new site.
